Elegant Wedding Card

As we move out of lockdown and weddings begin to take place again, I was asked to create a card for my Aunt to give at a wedding she is attending later this month.

I decided to combine the Simply Elegant papers with the dies from the Expressions in Ink suite on a 5 3/4" square card base in Basic Gray. This is one of my favourite suites so I just had to include it somehow. The dsp contains, gold, silver and copper foil in it, so I decided to use copper foil for the focal point. I die cut the large floral from copper foil and to save on foil, I die cut it from the larger layer as this was going to be covered by the dsp. 

As the dsp was patterned and the floral die over the top of it, was going to be a bit fussy, I added some vellum behind the die cut so the copper foil had its chance to shine.

The sentiment I pulled from Inspired Thoughts, although 'wedding day' was pulled from another stamp set in my stash. I heat embossed this with our copper embossing powder on basic gray cardstock. I also used Inspired Thoughts for the sentiment inside the card.

I finished it off with some leaves from the artistic dies, some flirty flamingo metallic ribbon and gold ribbon and champagne rhinestones.
