Stamp Around UK - August 2022

Hi and welcome!

This month I took part in my first video hop. The theme for this month was 'Layers and Textures'.

The video is not perfect at all but I'm learning how to make the videos. Anyway, for layers and textures, I reached once again for the Hippest Hippos. I absolutely love this set and I loved having fun and playing with them.

I used the Layering Diorama dies to create the seabed effect. I used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Starry Sky to create the depth of the sea.

As part of Sale-a-Bration throughout July and August, you can receive the Hippest Hippos stamp set with qualifying orders of £45, and for a further £45 order, you can also pair the stamp set up with dies free of charge.

I also stamped the inside of the card and I combined the hippos with the Whale Done stamp set. I love how well they work together.

You can view my video for how I made it, here.

Hope you like it! Don't forget to check out the rest of the members in the hop.

Ink.Stamp.Share July Blog Hop

Hello!

Welcome to my blog, whether you're starting your journey here or have popped by from one of the other amazing crafters in the hop.

This month's theme is Christmas in July. It's hard to think of Christmas when the weather has been so nice isn't it? I hope you've all been managing to keep cool in this hot weather we've been experiencing.

I am in love with the Hippest Hippos that are available as a Sale-a-Bration item with a qualifying order until the end of August; so I had to incorporate them in my card for the hop.

I teamed the hippos with the new Jingle Jingle Jingle stamp set that is new in the July-December mini catalogue. It has some really cute images in the set so I didn't struggle to come up with a card at all.

I pulled out some designer series paper from the Santa Express Suite to layer in the background and then cut a piece of vellum slightly smaller to soften the colours adhering these to a normal card base in Poppy Parade. Using the second largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies as well as the largest banner die, I cut these from Basic White. On the banner die cut, from Jingle Jingle Jingle, I stamped the outline of 'Jolly' in memento black and then stamped the infil in Poppy Parade.  I used Memento Black for the outline star stamp and then the solid star I stamped in Mint Macaron and Poppy Parade and stamped the stars on the circle die cut too.

I stamped one of the hippos in Basic Gray and then coloured using Smoky Slate - light & dark, SU100 natural blend and light Flirty Flamingo for the ears and mouth. I die cut him out. The circle die cut was adhered using liquid glue and then the banner die cut and hippo were adhered using dimensionals.

I added a hat from the Jingle stamp set, in Memento Black for the outline and Poppy Parade for the inside of the hat. I finished the hat with some Wink of Stella on the white parts; and completed the hippo by stamping the candy cane in Poppy Parade and some Wink of Stella. I stamped 'tis the season in Evening Evergreen on Basic White and fussy cut it out. To finish the outside of the card, I used Basic Pearls coloured using my blends in Poppy Parade and Mint Macaron.

I completed the card by adding a layer to the inside and stamping the Christmas lights on the top corners and coloured these in using blends in Mint Macaron, Petal Pink and Poppy Parade.

I can't take all the credit for designing this card, my cat Bella gave me lots of ideas hehe. She always likes to help. Anybody else have furry helpers?

Technique Tuesday Blog Hop - Watercolour

Hello!

This is my first time taking part in the Crafty Collaborations Technique Tuesday blog hop, so welcome! Whether you've started your journey here or have popped along from another crafter's, thank you so much for popping by.

This week's blog hop Technique Tuesday theme is watercolour. For my first card, I decided to mix things up a little and embossed some Shimmery White cardstock measuring 5 7/8 square with the new Painted Posies embossing folder. This is a 3D embossing folder and is absolutely gorgeous. I'm in love with it.

This first 2 cards I coloured using Soft Succulent, Polished Pink and Pale Papaya ink using our water painters. Once I'd finished colouring the embossed cardstock, I decided to cut this into 2 pieces to create 2 separate cards from it.

Ink.Stamp.Share July Showcase Blog Hop

Hello there!

Welcome to my blog whether you've started your journey here or have hopped over from another, thank you for popping by.

Today I wanted to share a couple of cards I have made using the Hues of Happiness suite.

The first card I made as a birthday card for my mum. I made a 5 7/8" square card base using Thick Basic White and used the designer series paper and create an aperture on the front of my card but it was a little flat, so I embossed the aperture using the Painted Posies 3d embossing folder. It's just gorgeous and I will definitely be using it again! And rather than stamp the images, I die cut the flowers from a sheet of the DSP.

I finished the card by heat embossing the sentiment, adding some iridescent rhinestones and a bow in the new Starry Sky metallic ribbon.

For my second card, I used Melon Mambo to create a standard card base and layered with Mango Melody. Before adhering to the card base, I stamped the largest flower in Mango Melody so it was tone on tone. Next I die cut the lace effect die on a piece of Basic White. I trimmed a piece of DSP slightly smaller than the Basic White die cut layer to allow the pinks and yellows to show through.

Instead of stamping and colouring the flowers in to decorate the card, I stamped one of each flower onto the DSP to give a more natural shaded effect and die cut these out. For the leaves, I stamped and coloured them in Granny Apple Green and whilst there are dies for these, I decided to fussy cut them out. Again, I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from the set, adding a bow in Sweet Sorbet metallic ribbon and some embellishments from the Glossy Dots assortment.

All of the items I used, can be found in the Annual Catalogue. Why not visit the other fabulous crafters in the hop to see what they've been working on and get some inspiration. Click on a link below in the roll call.

Father's Day Card

Hello everyone!

Thank you for stopping by. It's Father's Day here in the UK on Sunday so I thought I would share with you the card I made my dad.

I used a combination of stamp sets to create this card. The background is made using the stamps from the Oceanfront set in Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Sahara Sand.  The deckchairs and umbrella are from a new set - Sunkissed, that will be available in the new mini catalogue from July.

I stamped the palm trees from Paradise Palms to one side to create the illusion of them peeking in from behind the frame as well as the sun peeking from the top right.

For the frame, I used the largest and third largest stitched rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Die Set to cut the frame from Soft Suede. Using some post it notes, I masked off the corners at an angle on the top and bottom of the frame; and  stamped the wood effect stamp from the Whiskey Business stamp set, on the edges numerous times on the masked sides. To give it a more realistic feel, I blended some Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso. Then removed the masks and repeated the process on the sides.

Last minute, I decided to turn it into a shaker card, so I stamped the sentiment from Celebrating You at the top. The additional sentiment at the bottom of the card was from a retired set, Handsomely Suited, but I'm sure you have something in your stash equally as perfect for the occasion. Adding the window sheet to the frame and added adhesive foam strips around the outside to create the depth needed. I used some old sequins to use them up for the shaker so raid your stash to see what you can use. Then the background piece can be added to back of the frame.

To put the card together, the card base is Soft Suede. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake using the new 3d Fern embossing folder and for a little extra detail, I also cut from Coastal Cabana the strip die from Paradise Palms and cut in half so I could layer behind the shaker element. And of course, I had to add some twine to finish it off.

Cactus Cuties

Hi there!

This week saw my return to undertaking facebook lives after a hiatus.

As we are soon to be saying goodbye to the January to June mini catalogue, I decided to showcase the Cactus Cuties bundle.

For the first card, I chose to keep things fairly simple. I used thick Basic White for the card base and layered it with Parakeet Party (a new in colour for this year) designer series paper (DSP) from the new pack in the annual catalogue.

Then I added a layer of Basic White cardstock, embossed using the Painted Texture 3d embossing folder. Using a blending brush, I blended some Parakeet Party to the background.  I stamped some of the cactus in Evening Evergreen and punched out, then stamped the little flowers in Melon Mambo. The pots were stamped in Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride. The 3 pronged cactus was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and was fussy cut.

I then stamped the sentiment in Memento Black on Parakeet Party cardstock and hand cut. The card was finished with some glossy dots that's new this year.

For the second card I used thick Basic White for the card base again (standard size). I then used a piece of DSP from the soon to be retiring Abstract Beauty DSP and trimmed this to my desired size. I adhered a piece of Early Espresso cardstock embossed using the Timber 3d embossing folder to create a table effect.

I stamped all 3 pots one in each colour of Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and the new In Colour - Starry Sky. Don't you just love Starry Sky with Crushed Curry!

Using the largest banner die from Stylish Shapes Dies (also new this year), I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo and added some twice and glossy dots to finish the card off.
