Suite Showcase no.8 - Enjoy the Adventure

Hello!

How are you? It's so nice to have some lighter nights, now we just need the weather to catch on that it's Spring!
For this week's Suite Showcase, I'm sharing projects using the Enjoy the Adventure memories and more pack. These packs are fabulous for scrapbooking and card making. They include two different sized card layers and 4 sheets of stickers. On top of this, you can purchase card blank and envelopes (pack of 20) separately, that co-ordinate beautifully; then you can let your imagination run free knowing that they will all work together. But get these soon as they're due to retire at the end of this month (April) and are currently significantly reduced!

I started with half a pack and added some extra card bases to it and ended up with 13 cards! I just couldn't stop once I got going.

When I started, I kept things fairly simple and just layered some of the memories and more onto the card blanks and added a sticker or two for embellishments (stars and flowers) and finished off with Black & White Gingham Ribbon and some soon to be retiring Matte Black Dots.

Another simple looking one is this one, but the only difference is, I fussy cut the sentiment out of one of the layers included in the pack, as well as trimming down the black and white thank you panel from another layer.

For the next set of cards, I used the card blanks from the separate pack that's available for purchase. This time I used some of the smaller layers and mat them onto some Basic Black card stock. I added them to the card blanks at an angle and trimmed off anything that overhung. I again used black & white gingham ribbon around one layer and our gorgeous Balmy Blue variegated ribbon on the other.

To step up my next cards, I simply added a 2 1/4" punch. The card on the left I punched out the sentiment from the top layer and then turned it over. I layered the top piece and the sentiment on dimensionals. For the card on the right, I punched a hole in the top layer and then adhered a smaller card layer from the pack to the back for the sentiment. I trimmed this down to add a Basic Black layer behind and adhered this to the card blank on dimensionals. I added flower and leaf stickers for embellishments and the additional congrats sentiment.

These next cards, I added a layer of vellum on one and then, again, used one of the smaller layers and added to Basic Black with a quarter inch border. For the one on the right, I used a Balmy Blue card base. To this, I trimmed off one of the card blanks for the background and added to a Basic Black layer with a very small border (about 3mm). I wrapped the ribbon around this layer and adhered this flat to the card base. The top layer is one of the smaller ones included in the pack, which I mounted on Basic Black. I then added the butterfly sticker to the dogs nose. The hearts are also a sticker which I trimmed down.

The final two cards, I added some embossed layers and brought in some circle punches. For the card on the left, I trimmed one of the larger layers down into strips and added to a piece of Basic Black which I then added to a Petal Park card base. From the pack, I chose the smaller layer with the black and white border and trimmed this to size and added a petal pink layer that was embossed. I punched a 2" circle from vellum and completed the card with the stickers and Matte Black Dots. For the card on the right, I used a Basic Black card base. I embossed a layer of Mint Macaron and adhered this flat to the base. I pulled out the Mint Macaron layer from the pack and adhered this to a layer of Basic White and wrapped it in black & white gingham ribbon with a little bow to the left. I punched a 2 1/4' vellum layer and a 2" Basic Black circles. The dog, is a sticker from the pack as is the sentiment. As with the majority of my other cards, I finished with matte black dots.

And did you notice...not a stamp involved! These are great for beginners who like things to coordinate but also for those that like to scrapbook.

Hope you like these cards. Why not head over to see what Alison has been making at The Inkspirational Crafter.

Suite Showcase no. 7 - Rain or Shine

Hello and Happy Easter!
I'm delighted to introduce you to the Playing in the Rain suite from our January - April 2023 mini catalogue. I absolutely love this suite. The characters are so cute.

For my first card, as always, I have kept it more simple. I made a UK DL sized card base from Thick Basic White. This was cut to 8x8" and score in half at 4". I simply chose the Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I liked the most and for me that was the one with the daisies. This is just so beautiful and easy to make a quick card with. I decided to layer this on Basic Black because it really makes the colours pop. I cut the black layer to 3 3/4" x 7 3/4". And then I cut the DSP a 1/8" smaller on two sides, to give a slim border.

I stamped the tortoise and coloured him in using my Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake and Old Olive (both light and dark) and then die cut him out. I also stamped some flowers and coloured these in using dark Flirty Flamingo and dark Daffodil Delight, and again die cut these out. Although the shapes are easy enough to fussy cut if you don't have the dies. I used a label die from Something Fancy label dies in Basic Black. These are a fabulous addition to your dies. I white heat embossed the sentiment and added a little bow from the Black and White Gingham ribbon.

For my second card, I fussy cut some characters from the DSP, these are so cute! I made a standard card base from Thick Basic White. To build the scene, I cut a layer of Basic White to 10.2cm x 14.6cm and then randomly stamped the rain stamp in Balmy Blue. I also cut a layer of Balmy Blue to the same size. I then die cut an aperture using the third largest die from our Deckled Edge dies. Once I'd done this, I then embossed this layer using the Raindrops Embossing Folder.

On some scrap Basic White, I stamped the flowers twice and coloured these in using my dark Flirty Flamingo and dark Daffodil Delight and light Old Olive for the leaves. Using my blending brush and Old Olive ink, I blended some ink on Basic White and used this to die cut some grass.

For the sentiment, I stamped in Flirty Flamingo and cut a banner end on one side. Instead of using a ribbon or thread to finish the card off, I decided to just add Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels.

For my third card, how could I resist making an Easter card?! I mean it is Good Friday when this blog is published.

To make the Easter card, I used Thick Basic White for the standard card base. I chose some DSP from Regency Park for my first layer and to give a pop of colour. On a Basic White layer I blended, Balmy blue for the sky, I stamped some clouds in Memento Tuxedo Black. At the opposite end, I blended old olive for grass and pulled a grass stamp from the Easter Bunny set, in the same colour, as well as the flowers from Playing in the Rain. From the same set, I also stamped some Easter Eggs, both on Basic White and on DSP, so I didn't have to colour them all in.

To create the egg, I used the largest oval die from Framed Florets and then using the zig zag die from Basic Border dies, to create the 'crack'. The bunny was stamped from the Playing in the Rain stamp set and I coloured in using Crumb Cake, light and dark. As well as Flirty Flamingo light and dark, for the jacket. I adhered the bunny flat to the layer and then added the 'egg' on dimensionals on top of the bunny. Then I added the stamped Easter Eggs scattered at the bottom. To finish the card off, I white heat embossed the Happy Easter from the Easter Bunny set, trimmed it down and added a bow using black twine. This suite also includes gorgeous daisy flower embellishments which I randomly placed over the card.

I hope you love this suite as much as I do. It is only available as a suite until the end of this month (April), when we will lose the papers, but happily, the stamp set and dies are carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue that will be live from May 3rd. Although, they won't be available at the current 10% bundle reduction, so if you want to purchase them, please do so before the end of April to get the discount.

Please head over to see what Alison's been making with the suite, at The Inkspirational Crafter. She's been making some fantastic things.

Stamp Around UK Video Hop - April 2023 - CASE a Demonstrator

Hi there!

Can you believe it's been a month already since our last video hop?! This month's theme is CASE a Demonstrator. CASE stands for copy and share everything or copy and selectively edit. I chose Emma Goddard - The Coastal Crafter and her card from her YouTube live on Sunday 26th March. Here's the link to her video: Water colouring flowers with Irresistible Blooms from Stampin' Up!

Emma did her card in rainbow colours but I thought that I would do an ombre effect for mine in purples. I also decided to use a coloured card base.

For this card I used Irresistible Blooms, which is available as an online exclusive, along with some other fabulous products.

I heat embossed the flowers with white heat embossing powder before using all the different purples we have in our ink range - Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss; to watercolour them.

You can watch the video here to see how I made it.

For the flourishes, I pulled in some dies from Eden's Garden and Fragrant Flowers and then added some White Glittered Organdy ribbon behind the sentiment.

After I finished the video, I decided to go back and add some Iridescent rhinestones.

I really enjoyed making this one and thank you Emma for your inspiration! Hope you like it.

Please do check out the rest of the videos in the hop, there are some truly gorgeous projects.

Until next time....take care!
