Suite Showcase no. 22 - Beary Christmas

Hello crafters,

Today is Suite Showcase day and this time I'm featuring Beary Christmas. This is a fab suite that has Memories and More Cards pack and Cards & Envelopes pack available to match. This really helps you make quick and easy cards and make all your supplies stretch further.
I've used a combination of cardstock, DSP and Memories & More to create my cards.

First up is this simple card using a Thick Basic White card base, I created a matting layer of Basic White and embossed this using the Snowflake Sky 3d embossing folder. I then cut a strip of DSP the same width of the matting layer and glued it down. To hide the join, I added a strip of Balmy Blue sparkle ribbon.

The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy on one of the smaller cards from the Memories & More (M&M) card pack, with some added snowflakes stamped in Balmy Blue. I adhered this layer on dimensionals.

For my second card, I used the same layout but decided to stamp and fussy cut my tree. I stamped a couple of presents in Real Red and Misty Moonlight and then coloured using matching Blends. The polar bear was stamped in Basic Gray as I felt this was a bit softer than black. I added a line of Smoky Slate blends pen around the edge and then blended using my colour lifter. I finished the bear with some Wink of Stella.

The sentiment was stamped in Real Red and then trimmed to size. To create a soft banner style to the left, I punched the edge using the new Hexagon Punch. So it wasn't so stark white, I stamped some snowflakes in first and second generation Balmy Blue.

For my third card, I kept things simple again, using the M&M Cards and a card blank from the M&M Cards and Envelopes pack. I picked two of the smaller cards and laid them side by side and added a strip of Tear & Tape to hold them together, then hid the join behind a strip of ribbon. These were then layered onto the card blank using dimensionals.

Next up I decided to use some of the DSP. The piece I used was just too nice to not use the whole width of the paper. So I created a Z fold landscape card and added an area to the back of the card for writing. The sentiment panel is again a card from the M&M pack trimmed down. The large polar bear is punched from the DSP and the little baby is fussy cut.

The sentiment for the back of the card came from one of the sticker sheets included in the M&M Card pack, as is the star on the tree. The tree was stamped and fussy cut.

The tree was stamped in Old Olive for both the outside and for the branches.

Finally, I decided to utilise the deer stickers from the M&M pack. To do this, I stamped the Fragrant Forest stamp twice in Old Olive. I then fussy cut the middle set of trees and added them to the full stamp on dimensionals.

I added a layer of DSP behind the scene to bring in a pop of colour. The small deer sticker was added and the larger one had dimensionals added in order to lay it over the raised trees. The sentiment again came from the M&M pack layered on top of a bow from the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.

I hope you like the cards, I'm going to have more of a play with this suite. Why don't you head over to The Inkspirational Crafter, to see what Alison has been making with it. See you next time!
