Cactus Cuties

Hi there!

This week saw my return to undertaking facebook lives after a hiatus.

As we are soon to be saying goodbye to the January to June mini catalogue, I decided to showcase the Cactus Cuties bundle.

For the first card, I chose to keep things fairly simple. I used thick Basic White for the card base and layered it with Parakeet Party (a new in colour for this year) designer series paper (DSP) from the new pack in the annual catalogue.

Then I added a layer of Basic White cardstock, embossed using the Painted Texture 3d embossing folder. Using a blending brush, I blended some Parakeet Party to the background.  I stamped some of the cactus in Evening Evergreen and punched out, then stamped the little flowers in Melon Mambo. The pots were stamped in Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride. The 3 pronged cactus was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and was fussy cut.

I then stamped the sentiment in Memento Black on Parakeet Party cardstock and hand cut. The card was finished with some glossy dots that's new this year.

For the second card I used thick Basic White for the card base again (standard size). I then used a piece of DSP from the soon to be retiring Abstract Beauty DSP and trimmed this to my desired size. I adhered a piece of Early Espresso cardstock embossed using the Timber 3d embossing folder to create a table effect.

I stamped all 3 pots one in each colour of Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and the new In Colour - Starry Sky. Don't you just love Starry Sky with Crushed Curry!

Using the largest banner die from Stylish Shapes Dies (also new this year), I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo and added some twice and glossy dots to finish the card off.

Have a whale of a time

Hello all,

In my Facebook live this week I used the Whale Done bundle from the current mini catalogue.

I decided to try a different technique and used my clear blocks to create a faux watercolour background. I used a combination of pool party, coastal cabana and pretty peacock for the first card. I applied the ink directly to the block and then spritzed with water before 'stamping' it on shimmery white cardstock. I then used pretty peacock to stamp the scene and sentiment. I was quite pleased with the outcome.

I then repeated the process using pool party, pacific point and night of navy ink on a bigger clear block. Then I used a combination of night of navy and pacific point to stamp the scene and sentiment.

You can watch by Facebook live here to see in more detail how I made them.

Ink. Stamp. Share Monthly Blog Hop May 2021

Hello, and welcome to this month's Ink.Stamp.Share blog hop. If you've joined my blog from Deb's, welcome and wasn't her inspiration fab?! There really are some talented crafters in this hop.

This time we're sharing our current projects and I've been mostly focused on using products from our January to June mini catalogue. So in my last two Facebook lives, I've used Baby Pull Toys and Brushed Blooms to create a new baby card. I wanted to create something that was easy to replicate but effective too. See how I made the card here

I've also been working with the Snailed It bundle. I just love the snails, I'll be sad to see them go at the end of June.

I used them in my Facebook live (see the video here) this week to make these two cards. I used the strawberry stamp and punch set and googly eyes to one card to add a bit of humour:

But since the Facebook live, I've also made these two...I just can't stop now. They're so cute and versatile and great for any occasion.

Next up on the hop is Donna. Just click the next button below or select from the roll call below, to check out what everyone has been working on.

Baby boy card

Hi there and welcome back to my blog.

Today I'm sharing with you a commissioned baby card I recently made for a friend who has just welcomed a new nephew into the world.

I used our Brushed Blooms stamp set to create the background with the Stamparatus stamping platform.

To see how I created the card, you can view the recreation in my Facebook live here.

I used the giraffe and elephant from the Baby Pull Toys stamp set to colour and fussy cut, to add detail to the card.

Quick cards to use DSP

Hi and welcome back to my blog.

I hope you all had a nice Easter break, however you spent it.

This week's Ink.Stamp.Share Blog Hop's theme is to share projects that we've been working on recently.

I have been making the most of my retired DSP from this year's Sale-A-Bration. So, I decided to make some mini slimline cards. They measure 6 1/4" x 3 1/4".

I kept the cards simple and used the sentiments from Pretty Perennials and Peaceful Moments. Then I added little embellishments using the small bloom punch and used my blends to colour some pearl basic jewels. And of course, I had to add some wink of stella to the flowers!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! And what a beautiful day it is before the rain and snow arrives tomorrow.

As it's Easter, I just had to share these cards with you, using the Springtime Joy stamp set.

I stamped the images from the Springtime Joy set in memento black on a die cut layer from the hippo & friends dies, and coloured them in using my Stampin' Up! Blends pens in highland heather and balmy blue for the flowers. I added just a hint of gray granite  on the bunny and lamb. I used pear pizzazz with the largest water stamp from the Waterfront stamp set to act as grass underneath.

I stepped up both cards by adding an embossed layer underneath my die cut layers to add a little bit of texture. I then finished both cards off with some pastel pearls.

I hope you like them.

Also, we have a new Annual Catalogue on it's way, it will be available to customers from 4th May. There's lots of exciting new things in the catalogue. As a demonstrator, you receive an early copy of the catalogue as well as the opportunity to pre-order a few items. I can't wait for my new goodies to arrive! Here's a sneak preview of the cover...

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. If you don't have a demonstrator and you live in the UK, then I would love to be your demonstrator, please contact me to request a free catalogue.

Colour In Bloom

Hello! I wanted to share with you my latest make for The Spot#154-Case the Designer, here.

I've CASEd Dena's bright and cheerful slimline card that can be seen here.

I used a standard card base and the curvy celebrations dies to cut basic black and designer series paper from the True Love set. Then it was just a case of using the In Bloom bundle to die cut some colourful flowers.

I then used the stamp set to add some colour to the inside of the card.

Fun layout for your scraps

Welcome back to my blog!

Isn’t it lovely to see the sun shining and all the spring plants coming into flower?

Today, I thought I would share what I created at a Stampin' Up! team evening last Friday. We got together over Zoom to have a crafting evening. We call them mystery stamping nights because all we get to know beforehand; is the supplies we’ll need. Then one of our team members talks us through the process to gradually reveal the cards or 3d project we’re making. Its such fun and there is always lots of laughs. This time it was a fun layout. Whilst it was simple, it was so effective!

We cut 1cm strips by 4 inches long, of designer series paper to place in the background – a great way to use up scraps! We then cut a layer of cardstock at a diagonal to lay on top of the designer series paper that you can decorate however you like.

I chose to use a range of products starting with our Whale of a Time suite. I just love this stamp set. It’s so fun and the papers are gorgeous.

Here I used Circle Celebration with night of navy, calypso coral and coastal cabana inks and Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper. I just love how bright the result is.

Then I decided to use our new Hey Birthday Chick. They just make me chuckle with all the possibilities you can make with them. Again, I used Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper but I also used our All Wired Up stamp set to stamp the layered corners. If you don’t like fussy cutting, don’t worry, there’s dies for the chicks! Its such a good value set and coordinates with the Hey Chick set.

Finally, I decided to try something simpler and stamped using Brushed Blooms on the layered corners and used Artistry Blooms Designer Series paper in the background. I love the ombre effect on the paper.

Have you got a favourite? Why don’t you have a go and share your makes with me, I’d love to see them!
