Ink.Stamp.Share July Showcase Blog Hop

Hello there!

Welcome to my blog whether you've started your journey here or have hopped over from another, thank you for popping by.

Today I wanted to share a couple of cards I have made using the Hues of Happiness suite.

The first card I made as a birthday card for my mum. I made a 5 7/8" square card base using Thick Basic White and used the designer series paper and create an aperture on the front of my card but it was a little flat, so I embossed the aperture using the Painted Posies 3d embossing folder. It's just gorgeous and I will definitely be using it again! And rather than stamp the images, I die cut the flowers from a sheet of the DSP.

I finished the card by heat embossing the sentiment, adding some iridescent rhinestones and a bow in the new Starry Sky metallic ribbon.

For my second card, I used Melon Mambo to create a standard card base and layered with Mango Melody. Before adhering to the card base, I stamped the largest flower in Mango Melody so it was tone on tone. Next I die cut the lace effect die on a piece of Basic White. I trimmed a piece of DSP slightly smaller than the Basic White die cut layer to allow the pinks and yellows to show through.

Instead of stamping and colouring the flowers in to decorate the card, I stamped one of each flower onto the DSP to give a more natural shaded effect and die cut these out. For the leaves, I stamped and coloured them in Granny Apple Green and whilst there are dies for these, I decided to fussy cut them out. Again, I finished the card by stamping a sentiment from the set, adding a bow in Sweet Sorbet metallic ribbon and some embellishments from the Glossy Dots assortment.

All of the items I used, can be found in the Annual Catalogue. Why not visit the other fabulous crafters in the hop to see what they've been working on and get some inspiration. Click on a link below in the roll call.
