Suite Showcase 16 - Delightfully Eclectic Adhesive-Backed sequins

Hello, hello! How are you?

Today, I'm sharing with you the latest Suite Showcase - Delightfully Eclectic. This is a showcase with a difference, because the only thing in this 'suite' is the designer series paper. It's a whopper of a pack - 48 pages in total, all double sided with all sorts of themes and patterns that are all 12" x 12". That means it will pretty much go with whatever you already have in your stash.

Ink.Stamp.Share Monthly Blog Hop - Summer

Hello and welcome back to my blog. This month the team at Ink.Stamp.Share are working on the theme ‘Summer’. When I think of summer, I think of holidays abroad, beautiful sunsets, beaches and palm trees; so with this in mind, I’ve used a stamp set that if you live in the UK, is available on the clearance rack - Sunkissed.

Suite Showcase 15 - Les Shoppes

Hello, hello,
It’s the first Suite Showcase of August (where has the time gone!).  This month’s suite is Les Shoppes.

This is a great suite and was one I overlooked at first. The papers in this suite are beautiful and whilst with the stamp set, you can make your own shops, for my 3 cards today I’ve made them all just using the DSP and fussy cutting the shops out.

For my first card, I used a standard size Balmy Blue card base. The blue background is from the DSP, adhered to a matting layer of Basic White. I fussy cut one of the shops out together with the plant. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy and a banner end cut to the right.

I added the shop and plant pot on dimensionally. And finished the card with some iridescent pastel gems and a linen thread bow.

For my second card, I used a Crumb Cake card base and matting layer. The layer I embossed using the Exposed Brick embossing folder. I distressed the corners by rolling them around my Take Your Pick tool.

I fussy cut the bookshop and the top of another to create a taller building. For the sentiment, I die cut the 2nd largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies in Very Vanilla. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso. I thought this was better than black as it’s a softer colour. The sentiment came from Circle Sayings. I cut a strip of dsp that looks like a cobbled street and distressed it by screwing the paper up and tearing the ends. I layered the shop front on top of the cobbled street.

To finish the card, I fussy cut another plant pot and the sandwich board sign. Then added a linen thread bow and some gems.

For my third and final card, I made a DL card that measures 8”x8” scored in half at 4” from Calypso Coral cardstock. I cut a matting layer from Basic White and colour blended Balmy Blue about 2/3 of the way down the cardstock, using a large blending brush. I added a 1 and 1/2” strip of the cobbled street dsp to the bottom of the Basic White layer.

I then fussy cut a range of shops from the various pieces of DSP. This is a great card to use the shops on the edge of your paper. And of course I fussy cut a couple of plant pots and a sandwich board. I finished the shopping street scene with a small sentiment (from Something Fancy) and some more Iridescent Pastel Gems.

This is a nice set, and would make a great class.

I hope you like the cards. Now you can head over to see what Alison has been making with the suite here at The Inkspirational Crafter.
