Ink.Stamp.Share Blog Hop - Showcase

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

Today I'm joining some lovely and talented crafters sharing our current projects. As we've finally left January behind, I've been working with the Bee Mine Suite.

This is a fab suite made up of the Bee My Valentine stamp set, co-ordinating punch, 12x12" DSP, ribbon, square pillow boxes and embellishments.

To start, I kept my first cards at a more beginner level. On a matting layer of Basic White I stamped the flower stems at the bottom of the page and then added the flowers. With a blending brush, I used blended Balmy Blue at the top of the page.

I then stamped the bee direct onto the cardstock along with the trails and sentiment.

The second card, I stamped and punched out the bee, then layered some DSP onto a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock. I added the honeycomb stamp to the Daffodil Delight layer.

To lift the sentiment, I added a faux bow and finished with a flower embellishment.

Another simple card I made using the DSP has the main focus. I added pieces top and bottom of a Basic White matting layer and added ribbon to cover the join. I stamped the sentiment direct onto the matting layer. Simple but effective.

The next two cards are a variation of the same theme using the DSP to do the talking direct onto the card base. For one of the cards, I stamped the sentiment to the right of a punched heartfelt hexagon and added the bee to the left. The hearts were from the bee punch that are meant for the wings and antenna. For the other, I decided to use Deckled Rectangle dies for the sentiment but rather than centre them, I layered them to the bottom right just for a change.

I started to step things up from there and for the next card, I pulled from the Nested Essentials dies and cut the largest banner die for the sentiment. I then layered some DSP behind the banner and trimmed the bottom edges to match.

The next card is a simple funfold card. It's a standard card base with the front folded back on itself. I used the stitched square dies from the Stylish Shapes dies to create a diamond effect for the sentiment and inside of the card. I embossed the front square using the Cane Weave 3d embossing folder to give some texture. I made it a Valentine's card and added the additional sentiment inside.

Then for my final card, I wanted to make something with some movement. I cut a matting layer of Sweet Sorbet and one of the pieces of DSP to be the same size. The DSP was glued flat to the card base, Then using two of the stitched circles from Stylish Shapes dies I die cut a frame from the Sweet Sorbet. This allowed the DSP to be seen from the card base and created a channel. I added the main piece of the Sweet Sorbet layer to the DSP layer using dimensionals. Using a small circle punch I punched two circles and added half of a small dimensional to the centre of the punches. I laid these just under the edge of the inner circle of the Sweet Sorbet layer, with the dimensional facing upwards. I then added the centre circle back into the middle overlapping the inner edges of the punched circles. To decorate, I fussy cut a few honey jars and the bees from the DSP. I added the bees to the circle punches in the channel so they can fly around the circle! Here's a speeded up video showing how I did it:

To complete, I white heat embossed onto Sweet Sorbet and cut using the largest banner die from Stylish Shapes dies. I added a strip of DSP behind the sentiment to lift it and completed with a bow and some embellishments.

I truly am in love with these cute bees. I really struggled to put them down! Anyway, I hope you like the cards.
