Suite Showcase no.4 - Regency Park

Hello! Welcome back to my blog and the fourth instalment in the Suite Showcase collaboration with Alison at The Inkspirational Crafter.

Today, we're showcasing the Regency Park suite. This suite is gorgeous and includes 2 stamp sets - 1 with dies and 1 with a punch. Both stamp sets feature two step stamping so you can stamp the outline in one colour, and then stamp the leaves and flower inners in a different colour if you want to. 

My first card, I've kept simple using the Petal Park stamp and punch from the suite. So, I stamped the leaves first on a layer of Basic White. I decided to use my Stamparatus to stamp the leaf images. The outline was stamped in Garden Green and then the filler was stamped in Granny Apple Green. I decided to keep the sentiment simple and stamped 'Thanks' from the Sentimental Park set, straight onto the Basic White Layer using my Stamparatus to make sure I got it straight. And, the best thing about using your Stamparatus, you could easily batch make these cards, which is perfect if you have a number of cards to make.

On a piece of scrap, I stamped the flower outline in Sweet Sorbet (full strength) and the filler I stamped off Sweet Sorbet so it was second generation. Then I punched them out. I love how quick and easy a punch is!

Before adhering the flowers to the card, I laid them out where I wanted them, and then used the small leaf stamp to add some extra foliage under them. 

I adhered the flowers to the card using mini dimensionals and glued this to layer of Sweet Sorbet. This was all then added to a Thick Basic White card base and I finished off with a linen thread bow and a combination of iridescent rhinestones and 2022-2024 matte decorative dots. 

For my second card, I used some of them designer series paper (DSP). The colours in this DSP are gorgeous and I really struggled to pick some to start with because they're all just so nice! 

I cut two pieces of DSP to match a basic layer for the card base. Then on both pieces, on the short side, I cut off a strip at 1 1/2". This allows to make 2 cards at the same time. I then laid a strip of the DSP that I trimmed and one of the larger pieces left (approx 2 1/2") onto a basic layer of Basic White ensuring that the DSP butted up against each other. I then laid a strip of Night of Navy ribbon from the suite over the join. Then I went to town on die cutting the little flowers from the Sentimental Park dies out of a range of colours - Mango Melody, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Petal Pink. I also die cut the largest label die with the flower frame in Vellum and then I die cut the label die in Balmy Blue. On the label die, I stamped the sentiment using a combination from the stamp set. This was all layered onto a Mango Melody card base.

I layered the label die into the vellum frame and added some of the die cut flowers around the frame. To finish off, I made a faux bow using the Night of Navy ribbon and wrapped linen thread around this and tied a knot and bow and then tucked this under the sentiment. I completed the card with some iridescent rhinestones.

For my third and final card for today (although I could have kept going), I pulled in a couple of extra items - Framed Florets dies and the new Cane Weave 3D embossing folder.

I decided to use some more of the current In Colours, so I made a card base of Tahitian Tide, with a base layer of Starry Sky. This was embossed using the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder, this is turning out to be a new favourite of mine. The detail is just gorgeous!

From a piece of Basic White, I die cut a couple of the frames from the Framed Florets dies. The largest frame cuts the outer decorative section as well as a more simple layer at the same time. I cut this frame from DSP also, but in the end, I felt it would be too fussy with all the images. I then die cut the smallest frame from these dies in Basic White, which gave me both an outer decorative frame as well as the solid inside. On the small solid piece, I stamped the filler leaves in Granny Apple Green from the Petal Park set, I added the flower fillers also in Sweet Sorbet randomly around the edge of this layer and added the small leaf outline also in Granny Apple Green. On a scrap piece of paper, I stamped the flowers in Starry Sky both full strength and second generation.

I then decided that the middle layer was a bit too white, so I pulled out the hash stamp from the Sentimental Park set, in Tahitian Tide randomly around the edge. I adhered the decorative frame using multipurpose glue and then the second layer was added using dimensionals. The final layer was adhered using multipurpose glue. I then laid the flowers out to decide how I wanted them to look and then adhered them using a combination of glue dots and dimensionals. To finish the card off, I white heat embossed a sentiment onto Tahitian Tide and then trimmed down. I added a linen thread bow and completed the card with some iridescent rhinestones.

I hope you like this card, there are so many possibilities when using just the sentiments from Sentimental Park.

Suite Showcase no.3 - Country Floral Lane

Hi there, and welcome back to the Suite Showcase!

I can't believe it's February already!! And of course, that means Valentine's Day. Now I'm not a big Valentine's lover, but when I saw our Country Floral Suite, I fell in love with it.

For my first card, I wanted to showcase the beautiful designer series paper (DSP). It has some gorgeous colours in it.

 

This suite's stamp set features two step stamping, so you can stamp the foliage in one colour and the flowers in another, and together they form a heart. For this card I fussy cut around the heart and layered on a Mint Macaron scallop circle. I layered it all on a Sweet Sorbet card base and finished with some iridescent pastel gems.

To step up my second card, I cut a Balmy Blue card base and embossed the base with the new cane weave 3D embossing folder. Don't you just love the detail?!

I tried not to overcomplicate the rest of the card and picked out the DSP with the bicycles on. Isn't it gorgeous??? I layered the DSP onto some Sweet Sorbet cardstock to give it a pop.

And what's great about this stamp set...it's not just for Valentine's Day haha. I white heat embossed the sentiment on Sweet Sorbet and tucked some twine behind the sentiment. And again, I finished off with some iridescent pastel gems (sensing a theme haha).

For my third and final card, I went to town with my stamping. I created a DL card base from Thick Basic White card and then cut a layer of Sweet Sorbet and another of DSP. I stuck these flat on the card base. On a separate piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the foliage in a mix of Mint Macaron and Old Olive, then I stamped the hearts in Balmy Blue and Sweet Sorbet and punched out. Then using the Gingham DSP, I punched out some additional hearts. I layered them on the stamped foliage. Some were stuck flat and some were put on dimensionals. I added some little outline heart stamps in Sweet Sorbet too. 

I added the sentiment, stamped in Sweet Sorbet and trimmed it down to layer towards the bottom of the card. Then, as I did with my other cards, I finished with some twine and the iridescent pastel gems.

Suite Showcase no.2 - Awash in Beauty

Welcome back to the Suite Showcase collaboration with Alison at The Inkspirational Crafter. Today we're sharing inspiration using the Awash in Beauty suite. This is a gorgeous suite and comes with a beautiful trellis background die.

For my first card, I kept it simple with just a layer of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a sentiment. Before adhering my layer to the Balmy Blue card blank, I tied a bow in a strip of organdy ribbon and then wrapped it around the DSP. The sentiment was stamped and fussy cut in Merry Merlot on Basic White. Simple but really effective and lets the beautiful DSP speak for itself. I finished the card with some iridescent pearl embellishments. What do you think?

For my second card, I stepped it up a little by cutting a strip of DSP and fussy cutting out a group of flowers from a sheet of the papers. Of course, you can stamp and die cut your own if you prefer, but when its done for you, why not take the opportunity! I adhered both the strip of DSP and the fussy cut flowers to a layer of basic white that measures the same size as the card blank. Then using a strip of Gray Granite shimmer ribbon, I tied a bow and wrapped it around, making sure it overlapped the fussy cut flowers and DSP strip. Before adhering the sentiment to the card, I looped some white twine from the basics pack. The sentiment was stamped in Merry Merlot on Basic White cardstock. This was cut using a banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies. I finished the card with some iridescent pearl embellishments.

For my third and final card, I die cut the trellis die from Basic White and adhered this to a standard A6 Basic White card blank. I chose a sheet of DSP to diagonally cut and laid this over the trellis. I again fussy cut two bouquets of flowers from the DSP and adhered these up the diagonal. To add volume to the flowers, I die cut one of the foliage dies using the Specialty Designer Vellum. 

For the sentiment, I stamped and heat embossed a birthday greeting from the Charming Sentiments bundle. I embossed in white on Merry Merlot. I adhered this to the card over the flowers on dimensionals with some gray twine behind it. And of course added some iridescent pearl embellishments to finish it all off.

Hues of Happiness

Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a lovely festive season. As it's the start of the New Year, what better way to kick things off than with a brand new Suite Showcase blog in collaboration with my friend and fellow crafter, Alison from The Inkspirational Crafter.

Today we're showcasing the Hues of Happiness Suite. This is one of my absolute favourites.

My first card is a good example of what can be created if you're a beginner. It doesn't have to have lots of layers or details for you to create a beautiful card. With a standard A6 card base (10.5cm x 29.7cm scor4ed at 14.85cm) in Gorgeous Grape, I added a white layer and then cut down a smaller layer of Gorgeous Grape and some designer series paper (DSP) both of the same size and off set them. To add some embellishment, I cut some flowers from a sheet of the DSP and then finished it off by stamping the sentiment and adding some embellishments from the suite.

My second card, shows how you can step up a card using the background die in the set. Using Gorgeous Grape again, I created a DL card base - 8" x 8" scored on one side at 4". On a layer of Basic White, I used the background die and cut it twice on the layer.  Then using a blending brush, I added some Coastal Cabana ink to give it a bit colour.

I followed this up by stamping and die cutting two of the flowers from the set. Instead of colouring with blends pens, I decided to use blending brushes to add the colour. This gave them a soft colour. I then heat embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Gray cardstock to soften the look. Die cutting a banner die from the Stylish Shapes dies, in Gorgeous Grape, I cut it in half and added a piece either end of the sentiment to make it look like a banner. I finished the card with a bow using the gray twine (who doesn't have twine lying around?!) from the Bakers Twine essentials pack, and embellishments from the suite.

For my final card, I created a basic card base of A6 (as I did for my first card) in Melon Mambo. Again, I added a Basic White layer. If you want to step up this card further, you could emboss this layer before adding it to the card base. Then using the strip dies from the suite, I cut on from DSP and 1 from Basic White. On the Basic white piece, I used a mask from the Artistic mix set and blended in Daffodil Delight in the background. Although, you can't see it much because I then decided to to cover the layers in flowers! Haha! I distressed the edges slightly and because I offset the layers, I curled up opposite corners on each layer.

I then went mad with the heat embossing of flowers in black on Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana cardstock scraps. I also black heat embossed a range of leaves on Granny Apple Green. Then I die cut them all out. I originally didn't have the intention of using all of them on one card, but once I started layering them, I couldn't stop lol. I glued some of them down and then layered others on dimensionals to give depth. Finishing up the card, I white heat embossed a sentiment on a piece Basic Black cardstock scrap and layered this with not one but two ribbons - the black and white gingham and white twine again, from the essentials pack. And of course I added some of the glossy dots embellishments in pink from the suite, because, well it would be rude not to!

Stamp Around UK - August 2022

Hi and welcome!

This month I took part in my first video hop. The theme for this month was 'Layers and Textures'.

The video is not perfect at all but I'm learning how to make the videos. Anyway, for layers and textures, I reached once again for the Hippest Hippos. I absolutely love this set and I loved having fun and playing with them.

I used the Layering Diorama dies to create the seabed effect. I used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Starry Sky to create the depth of the sea.

Ink.Stamp.Share July Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog, whether you're starting your journey here or have popped by from one of the other amazing crafters in the hop.

This month's theme is Christmas in July. It's hard to think of Christmas when the weather has been so nice isn't it? I hope you've all been managing to keep cool in this hot weather we've been experiencing.

I am in love with the Hippest Hippos that are available as a Sale-a-Bration item with a qualifying order until the end of August; so I had to incorporate them in my card for the hop. 

I teamed the hippos with the new Jingle Jingle Jingle stamp set that is new in the July-December mini catalogue. It has some really cute images in the set so I didn't struggle to come up with a card at all.

I pulled out some designer series paper from the Santa Express Suite to layer in the background and then cut a piece of vellum slightly smaller to soften the colours adhering these to a normal card base in Poppy Parade. Using the second largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes dies as well as the largest banner die, I cut these from Basic White. On the banner die cut, from Jingle Jingle Jingle, I stamped the outline of 'Jolly' in memento black and then stamped the infil in Poppy Parade.  I used Memento Black for the outline star stamp and then the solid star I stamped in Mint Macaron and Poppy Parade and stamped the stars on the circle die cut too.

I stamped one of the hippos in Basic Gray and then coloured using Smoky Slate - light & dark, SU100 natural blend and light Flirty Flamingo for the ears and mouth. I die cut him out. The circle die cut was adhered using liquid glue and then the banner die cut and hippo were adhered using dimensionals.

I added a hat from the Jingle stamp set, in Memento Black for the outline and Poppy Parade for the inside of the hat. I finished the hat with some Wink of Stella on the white parts; and completed the hippo by stamping the candy cane in Poppy Parade and some Wink of Stella. I stamped 'tis the season in Evening Evergreen on Basic White and fussy cut it out. To finish the outside of the card, I used Basic Pearls coloured using my blends in Poppy Parade and Mint Macaron.

I completed the card by adding a layer to the inside and stamping the Christmas lights on the top corners and coloured these in using blends in Mint Macaron, Petal Pink and Poppy Parade.

I can't take all the credit for designing this card, my cat Bella gave me lots of ideas hehe. She always likes to help. Anybody else have furry helpers?
