Suite Showcase no. 18 - All About Autumn

Hello and welcome back!

Today I'm sharing with you, the All About Autumn Suite from the all new September to December Mini Catalogue, and the weather outside is definitely autumnal!

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) in this suite is stunning! One side is printed and the reverse is copper foiled. The colours are beautiful as are the images. So, for my first card I wanted to show a quick card using the DSP.

I created a 5 7/8" square card base from Copper Clay. I wanted to have the card base as large as possible so I could use a whole sheet of DSP as the background. Although I did cut a matting layer from Pretty Peacock as a contrast to the DSP.

I pulled in die cut label using Nested Essentials, although the dies within the suite are a perfect fit (I just forgot about them when I was creating). The sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock. For the foliage behind the sentiment, I used the both ribbons from the Copper & Natural Ribbon combo pack. The leaves were die cut from the various leaves within the die set using the foil DSP sides and I also brought in the Bough punch, which is perfect if you want quick leaves. The card was finished with Adhesive-Backed Speckled Gems.

For my second card, I decided to create a stamped one sheet wonder. All the colours I used were from the suite - Copper Clay, Moody Mauve, Mossy Meadow and Pretty Peacock. I used all of the image stamps from the suite, although I did pull in a dottage stamp from Textured Floral together with a grouped leaf stamp. Here's the finished product:

From this I created a card and I still have plenty of the stamped OSW left to make plenty more. The card I made I cut to a normal matting layer for a standard card base from Mossy Meadow. To soften the background, I cut a layer of Vellum cardstock 1cm smaller on 2 sides than the OSW layer. I embossed the Vellum piece using our 3d Leaf Fall embossing folder. Using a blending brush, I blended some Mossy Meadow both on the edges of the OSW and Vellum pieces.

The sentiment layer was created using a 2" Circle Punch in Copper Clay. The sentiment itself was stamped in Pretty Peacock directly onto the Natural Ribbon and adhered this to the Copper Clay punched circle. Again, to complete the card, I die cut various of the foliage dies using the foil sides of the DSP and added the speckled gem embellishments.

For my final card, I've actually filmed how I made it. You can view the video below to see how I created it.
